Disability Support Services Across the Alpine Shire & Surrounds

Genuine, caring disability support tailored to your unique needs and goals

About Me

Hi, I'm Sean, a Myrtleford local offering disability support across the Alpine Shire and surrounds.

As a parent of two neurodivergent boys, I bring genuine understanding and lived experience to my work. I'm passionate about affirming support that respects who you are, presumes competence, and helps you achieve your goals.

I'm actively involved in the neurodivergent community as co-founder of Alpine Valleys Autism Community and as a facilitator for peer support groups, and am continuously learning how to provide the best support I can to neurodivergent people and others with support needs.

I'd love to meet you for a free, no-obligation chat to see if we're the right fit.

Disability Support Services

I offer the following support services as an independent support worker.

Domestic Support

Keeping your home comfortable and organised. Light housework, tidying and decluttering, dishes, minor repairs like changing lightbulbs and batteries, and general home maintenance.

Administrative Support

Managing the everyday paperwork and planning. Assistance with calendar management, appointment scheduling, reminders, correspondence, and other organisational tasks.

IMPORTANT: I cannot provide Personal Care services such as showering, dressing, toileting, medication management, manual transfer, or personal grooming. These services require specialist Personal Care Workers with particular training. Please verify any worker you engage has the relevant qualifications.

Let's Have a Chat

I offer a free meet and greet, in person or online, to see if we're the right fit. No obligations, just a chance to get to know each other and discuss how I can support you

How to Work With Me

Getting Started

The first step is a free meet and greet – either in person or online. This gives us both a chance to get to know each other, discuss your needs and goals, and make sure we're a good fit before making any commitments. No pressure, no obligations.

Booking Support Through Mable

I work as an independent support worker through Mable, an online platform that connects people needing disability support with local workers in their community.

Mable handles the screening process for all workers, including police checks, Working with Children Checks, reference checks, and qualification verification. They also arrange insurance coverage for all support sessions booked through the platform, including general liability and personal accident cover.

If you already have a Mable account, you can view my profile and contact me directly through the platform. If you're new to Mable, you can learn more here.

Finding the Right Fit

Great support work starts with the right match between worker and client.

Here's what might make us a good fit – and what might not.

We might work well together if you're looking for:

  • Social support, companionship, life skills development, or domestic assistance

  • A support worker with lived experience of neurodivergence and mental health challenges

  • Deep understanding and experience with autism and ADHD

  • Genuinely neurodiversity-affirming, person-centred support

  • Someone who shares interests in technology, gaming, LEGO, board games, or the outdoors

  • A parent supporting your neurodivergent child

  • Longer, flexible support sessions

  • Local support within an hour of Myrtleford

  • A male support worker who's outgoing and social

We might not be the right fit if you need:

  • Personal care services (showering, dressing, toileting, medication management, etc)

  • Support for complex needs requiring specialist training

  • A support worker who speaks languages other than English

  • Short sessions (less than 2 hours)

  • Regular support more than an hour from Myrtleford

  • Frequent support outside of business hours

  • A female support worker

What Do I Mean By "Affirming Support"?

Affirming support is so important to how I work that I put it right in the business name, but what does it actually mean?

Presuming competence

I assume you're capable and listen to what you communicate, however you communicate it.

Respecting your autonomy

You're the expert on your own life. My role is to support your goals, not impose mine.

Celebrating differences

I will focus on your strengths and find strategies that work for you, not trying to make you fit someone else's idea of "normal".

Person-centred support

Your culture, identity, preferences, and the things that matter to you, shape how we work together.

Using the lens of the Social Model of Disability

Disability is not a personal deficit, but instead often results from barriers in society. I work to reduce those barriers so you can participate fully in your life and community.

This affirming approach works to create support that is empowering, respectful and responsive to your individual needs, goals and preferences.
